Title goes here
Welcome to John Flynn's Workshop. You can take a look at John's current projects here. All the quilts you see on our website were quilted with the Flynn Multi-Frame. You can see there is a wide variety of quilts that can be successfully quilted with John's no-baste frame. We try to update often!
For periodic updates on what John, Brooke and Kate are doing, check out BLOG Nothing earthshaking, just quick little notes from time to time and a chance for you to comment, if you want!
UPDATE!
Our Pre-Cut Kits continue to be very popular. There is something for every quilter from traditional blocks to the really unusual and challenging. Here are a few examples and visit the Catalog to see all the pre-cut kits.

We have been working on adding a few items to the Multi-Frame to make it even more convenient. We started by changing from wood rods to fiberglass rods. The fiberglass rods are lighter, but the main advantage is that the round rod ends that we use can be transferred to metal pipe (electrical conduit) later for wider projects. A round rod like the metal pipe gives the quilter more room to quilt in and stays straight when wood 2x2s can warp or twist. Then we thought, let's just make the Multi-Frame as all inclusive as we can. We put the double stick carpet tape on the rods for you, we give you the 3 muslin starter strips you need as well as the side tension ribbon. And best of all, you don't have to go the hardware store to find PVC pipe, we furnish that also! And it's RED!
Here are a few images of the new version of the Multi-Frame and of that RED PVC pipe.

These are the pre-cut kits that we are working on now. John has finished putting a 12" Wheel of Mystery together that is cut from the wonderful, thick Sew Batik flannel. The colors are beautiful, look for it in the Pre-Cut Kits section mid June.
The Dutchman's Puzzle blocks had been around in a bag for quite a while; John found them last weekend and put them together. Another beauty! The fabrics are all solids in Amish colors. We have ordered the fabrics so this kit should be ready in August sometime. Oh, we decided to call it "Deutsche Man's Puzzle" since John has a lot of German in his heritage.

Kate wanted to see the 18" Arabic Lattice block in Thirties Reproductions. It really turned out nice; subtle and soft. See all these kits in the Pre-Cut Kits section of the Catalog.

When we got the Pre-Cut Red and Black Arabic Lattice kits ready last week, John was inspired to make little variations out of the scraps. So he made these three little samples over the Memorial Day weekend. (Brooke read a book on Cardinal Wolsey) The block is 6". You can see how many options you have to set the Arabic Lattice using the template set. If there is any interest out there, we may make the acrylic template set in 6"; it's very cute or make a pre-cut kit with 6" blocks in the Pinwheel set.

Billings, Montana is lucky to have preserved the 1903 home of P.B. Moss, an early business leader. The mansion has almost all of its original furnishings and Persian carpets; it is a real treasure for the community. The Moss Mansion is right in downtown Billings and has beautiful grounds.
More About the Moss Mansion
A friend asked John to demonstrate quilting for a couple of hours at a Country Fair at the Moss Mansion this weekend. Jerry Belgarde, expert Sioux Star quilt maker, and Brooke helped. We got some folks to try their hand at quilting; we weren’t quite as interesting as the belly dancers, though, and all that food.

John and Brooke are proud of Kate for entering her first major quilt contest, the AQS Quilt Show and Contest in Paducah, this April. Her entry was in the "Young Designer" category. The quilt looked really good hanging and Kate was really happy to have her pink "Contestant" ribbon for her name badge.
Here is the prototype for Kate's newest kit "Spinning Color Wheel". Now this image breaks all the rules for good quilt photography but - well, we are always in a hurry, I guess. Kate made a few changes to the color values and the kit in the Catalog has 20 blocks. This little quilt was a baby gift. lucky baby, huh.

We need to have a couple of new portraits taken but, until we get that accomplished, here is what we looked like way back when. Well, not so long ago for Kate and Kevin, but John and Brooke are genuine baby boomers. Or as our son once said “People From The Sixties”.
